Project Description: Pirtle Construction is the Construction Manager for this new middle school in Avalon Park which will relieve the overcrowding at the existing Avalon Park Middle School. The project will start on or about 6/1/15 and the new buildings and associated site improvements are required to achieve Substantial Completion on 6/15/16. The school is 178,027 SF and the buildings are comprised of tilt-up concrete panels, structural steel, and standard interior/exterior finishes for an OCPS school. The project includes significant earthwork operations. The schedule is extremely constrained which will require Saturday work for the entire schedule and double shifts for a select portion of the schedule. The new school and campus will be constructed on an unoccupied campus, however, upon OCPS occupancy Jessica Lunsford Act requirements will be enforced.
Bid Packages: Pirtle Construction will issue Bid Packages for every scope of work that will identify specific inclusions that are required to be included in your Bid. The Bid Packages will be posted for download on ISqFt and a notification will be sent when they are available. The Bid Packages will be posted at least 10 days prior to the Bid Due Date. However, it is important that each subcontractor start reviewing the drawings in order to become familiar with the project design/scope and submit RFI’s.
M/WBE and LDB Participation: Pirtle Construction encourages the participation of subcontractors and vendors that are certified as M/WBE and/or LDB. The M/WBE goal for this project is 23% and the LDB goal for this project is 10%. Acceptable M/WBE certifications are from Orange County Government, City of Orlando, State of Florida, Florida Minority Supplier Diversity Council/National Minority Supplier Diversity Council and Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. Acceptable LDB certifications are from Greater Orlando Aviation Authority and Orange County Public Schools.

You must receive a formal invitation to ISqFt from Pirtle in order to access the project. Hard copies of the drawings and the specifications are available for purchase at ASG Reprographics. Bond Requirements: All subcontractors’ bids in excess of $100,000.00 will be required to provide a payment and performance bond.
